Ryan Onorato was born and raised in a small town in Southern New Jersey, where he spent a lot of time outdoors with his friends. At the age of eight, he found his passion for comics and cartoons, as well as telling a good story.
Ryan is an alumnus of the Maryland Institute College of Art, (MICA) in Baltimore, where he received a BFA in illustration. His artwork is heavily influenced by the skate and surf cultures, as he will swear he was born on the wrong coast.
Ryan’s work has appeared in print publications, on event posters for Patton Oswalt, ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic, and Lindsey Stirling, as well as on signage for major retail chains. His graphic novel Pizza Tree (written by Mark & Chase Poulton) was a Moonbeam Awards bronze medal recipient, and a Ringo Awards nominee for Best Kids’ Graphic Novel.
Ryan currently works as an Art Director and in-house Illustrator for RedPeg Marketing, where he has collaborated with clients such as Nike, Niantic, Marriott, Obsidian Entertainment, In-N-Out Burger, Imagine Dragons and Beyoncé.
In his spare time, he enjoys surfing, skateboarding, playing drums, and spending time with his wife Ashley and their cats.
